The ASME Foundation
Three Park Avenue, 23N3
New York, NY 10016
The ASME Foundation was founded with a mission to support educational opportunities for mechanical engineers. The Foundation obtains funding for scholarships that support and expand career opportunities or professional growth in the field of mechanical engineering through education and research. Scholarship programs are made possible by major endowments and by smaller contributions from people who want to support educational opportunities for young people. These contributions allow for on-going support for mechanical engineering students.
The Foundation has endowments that provide over $200,000 annually in scholarships to deserving students in the field. There are two (2) scholarships jointly administered by the ASME Foundation and the ASME Auxiliary: The ASME Foundation-ASME Auxiliary FIRST Clarke Scholarship and The Lucy and Charles W.E. Clarke Scholarship. For a complete listing of available awards and application guidelines, visit the ASME website for Financial Aid information.
Anyone can create an endowment in the form of a scholarship. Here are the various ways to do so:
Combine memorial donations to create a one-time scholarship to honor a loved-one
Make a lump-sum contribution that specifies the creation of scholarship fund
Bequeath funds for a scholarship in your will
Establish a planned gift to fund a scholarship
The minimum amount for a scholarship is $1000 and $40,000 is required for an endowment. You are able to name the award, as well. Contact Judith Kearney for more information.
In efforts to promote mechanical engineering as a viable and enticing choice of study, The ASME Foundation offers scholarships to deserving undergraduates and graduate students.
